Mission

Our mission is to become a de facto language resource on the internet that uses multimedia to successfully introduce the methods of collaborative learning and immersion to online language learning.


Speakado Team

 

Timour Khamnayev – Founder/President Timour is one of the co-founders of Speakado. His background is in Linguistics and eLearning software development. Timour’s native languages are Russian and Buryat (Mongolian dialect). Raised by an English philology scientist mother, Timour must have inherited the true passion for languages. Some of his odd Linguistic experiments include a self-inflicted linguistic isolation in rural New Hampshire as an attempt to acquire a native-like pronunciation, an intensive Spanish course via sharing a tiny apartment with a Peruvian elderly family, a 3-month shot at being a professional interpreter for a model American cattle farm in Siberia by Mongolian border. Timour’s profound dissatisfaction with existing online language tools drove him to participate in creation of Speakado that is poised to become the ultimate language learning web service.

John Ogai – Founder/Director of Content Management John is another original co-founder of Speakado. John’s background includes Information System, video production and online-retail business development. John is our creative guru and relentless perfectionist, a driving force behind the constant creation and improvement of our product features and video content. John is Korean, a native speaker of Russian (Yes Russian!), he was born and raised in the Far East of Russia. Although having had some formal training in Korean, John can barely form a sentence in this beautifully sophisticated language. Asserting his interest in his Korean heritage and language as well as indebtedness to his ancestors John has been pushing the team to start a Korean section ASAP. John studied Korean in middle school for 2 years and by his own acknowledgment, to this day, could perfectly fine read the text but can't understand a word of what he just read. John is the true inventor of the language-learning methodology of “learning a new language out of love.” He is set to become the living proof of his method’s effectiveness. As far as we understand Spanish is on his priority list, too.

Anthony Bertolo – Web Programming guru Anthony is a prodigy of web programming who's hacking skills began developing shortly after he started walking and holding a spoon. Detailed bio is coming soon….
